 PRIOR KNOWLEDGE

To knit this shawl it is necessary to know how to cast on with knit stitches, knit stitch, purl stitch and the cable technique, as well as how to make increases. It is also necessary to know how to read charts, as the instructions for knitting the body of the shawl with lace patterns are only given in chart form.

CONSTRUCTION

This shawl is knitted from top to bottom starting with a cast-on in knit stitch with a slipped center stitch, from which the stitches are picked up and the entire body of the shawl is knitted. Then, a few rows of rib stitch are knitted and the shawl is bound off.

Width: 147 cm [57”].

GAUGE

16 stitches and 22 rows for a 10 x 10 cm [4 x 4”] swatch in stockinette stitch, unblocked.

NEEDLES

4.5 mm [US 6] circular needles with an 80 cm [32"] cable or the size needed to obtain gauge (unblocked).

Tapestry needle to weave in ends, 1 stitch marker for the center of the work.

USE AND WASHING INSTRUCTIONS

Our garments do not require frequent washing due to their natural composition; simply air the garment on a clothesline overnight, and any odors will dissipate.
