PREREQUISITE SKILLS
To knit this cardigan, you need to know how to knit and purl, cast on stitches using the Turkish cast-on method, pick up and re-knit stitches, increase by knitting front and back, decrease, use the cable technique, and bind off stitches. It is essential to be able to read charts, as instructions for knitting cable motifs are given only in chart form.
CONSTRUCTION
This cardigan is knitted in one piece, starting at the neckline with a strip that will form the button band, from which stitches will then be picked up to continue with the rest of the body. The body can be knitted with either straight or circular needles, as it is worked flat in rows with knit and purl stitches. The sleeves are knitted in the round.

Finished garment circumference (open): 126 cm [49.5"].
Garment height from neckline: 64 cm [25.25"].
Sleeve length from neckline: 57 cm [22.5"].
GAUGE
15 stitches and 22 rows for a 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4") swatch in stockinette stitch, UNBLOCKED.
NEEDLES
5 mm [US 8] circular needles with 80 cm [32”] cables for the body and 20 cm [8”] or shorties for the sleeves, or the size needed to obtain gauge. YOU CAN GET YOUR NEEDLES HERE
OTHER ACCESSORIES
8 stitch markers for increases, 2 stitch markers for button bands, cable needle, tapestry needle to weave in ends.
