PRIOR KNOWLEDGE
To knit this cardigan, you need to know how to knit, purl, knit in the round, cast on using the long-tail method, knit German short rows, make increases (those normally used for armholes), pick up and resume stitches, the colorwork technique, the steek and bind off using the Italian method. It is essential to know how to read charts, as the instructions for knitting the colorwork motif of the yoke are given only in chart form.
CONSTRUCTION
This cardigan has a top-down circular construction, knitted first as if it were a sweater, meaning it starts by knitting the neckline, continues with the yoke, then the sleeves and body are separated, and the body is continued to be knitted in the round. Next, the sleeves are picked up and knitted in the round to the cuff. It is made in one piece, without any seams. It is knitted in stockinette stitch in the round, with a colorwork motif on the yoke. The body and sleeves finish with a ribbed cuff. At the end, the stitches lateral to the steek are reinforced with a crochet hook, the button bands are knitted on two needles, and finally, the cardigan is cut from top to bottom along the center front stitch to open it.

NEEDLES
4 mm [US 6] circular needles for casting on and ribbing.
