PRE-REQUISITES
To knit this swoncho, you need to know how to knit knit and purl stitches, knit in the round, cast on stitches using any method (though the long-tail method is recommended), knit German short rows, make yarn-over increases (those typically used for armholes), pick up and resume stitches, the cable knitting technique, and bind off stitches. It is essential to be able to read charts, as the instructions for knitting the cable motif on the yoke are provided only in chart form.
CONSTRUCTION
This swoncho has a top-down construction, meaning it starts by knitting from the neckline, continues with the yoke, then separates the sleeves and body, and the body continues to be knitted in the round. Next, the sleeves are picked up and knitted in the round to the cuff. It is made in one piece, without any seams. It is knitted in stockinette stitch in the round, with a very simple cable motif on the yoke. The body and sleeves finish with a ribbed trim.
