PREREQUISITE KNOWLEDGE
To knit this swoncho, you need to know how to knit knit and purl stitches, knit in the round, cast on stitches using any method (although the long-tail cast-on is recommended), knit German short rows, make increases (typically used for armholes), pick up and resume stitches, use the cable stitch technique, and bind off stitches. It is essential to be able to read charts, as the instructions for knitting the cable motif on the yoke are provided only in chart form.
CONSTRUCTION
This swoncho has a top-down construction, meaning it is started by knitting the neckline, then continuing with the yoke, separating the sleeves and body, and continuing to knit the body in the round. Next, the sleeves are picked up and knitted in the round to the cuff. It is made in one piece, without any seams. It is knitted in stockinette stitch in the round, with a very simple cable motif on the yoke. The body and sleeves finish with a ribbed trim.
