PRIOR KNOWLEDGE
To knit this swoncho, you need to know how to knit and purl, knit in the round, cast on stitches using any method, although the long-tail cast-on is recommended, knit German short rows, make increases (those normally used for armholes), pick up and re-knit stitches, the cable knitting technique, and bind off stitches. It is essential to be able to read charts, as the instructions for knitting the cable motif on the yoke are given only in chart form.
CONSTRUCTION
This swoncho has a top-down construction, meaning it starts by knitting the neckline, continues with the yoke, then the sleeves and body are separated, and the body is continued in the round. Next, the sleeves are picked up and knitted in the round to the cuff. It is made in one piece, without any seams. It is knitted in stockinette stitch in the round, with a very simple cable motif on the yoke. The body and sleeves end with an elastic ribbing.
