CONSTRUCTION

This is a bottom-up top/vest, meaning it is knitted from the bottom up. First, the ribbing is knitted, then the body is knitted in the round up to the armholes, where the front and back are separated and knitted flat up to the shoulders, which are joined with the kitchener stitch method. A small finish is made on the remaining stitches for the neckline, and finally, the stitches are picked up and knitted in rib stitch to finish the armholes.

24 stitches and 30 rows for a 10 x 10 cm [4 x 4”] swatch in stockinette stitch, UNBLOCKED.

NEEDLES

3.5 mm [US 4] circular needles with an 80 cm [32”] cable or the size needed to obtain the correct gauge for the top's body. Needles one size smaller for the ribbing and for picking up armhole stitches.
