It is essential to know how to read charts, as the instructions for knitting the lace motifs are given only in chart form.

CONSTRUCTION

This is a bottom-up top/vest, meaning it is knitted from the bottom up. First, the ribbing is knitted, then the body is knitted in the round up to the armholes where the front and back are separated. These are then knitted flat up to the shoulders, which are joined using the kitchener stitch method. A small finish is made on the remaining stitches for the neckline, and finally, stitches are picked up and knitted in ribbing to finish the armholes.

Garment bust circumference: 130 cm [51.25”].

Height from armhole: 35 cm [13.75”].

GAUGE

24 stitches and 30 rows for a 10 x 10 cm [4 x 4”] swatch in stockinette stitch, UNBLOCKED.

YARN

NEEDLES

3.5 mm [US 4] circular needles and 80 cm [32”] cable or the size needed to obtain the gauge for the body of the top. Needles one size smaller for the ribbing and for picking up stitches at the armholes.

USE AND WASHING INSTRUCTIONS
