PRIOR KNOWLEDGE

To knit this top/vest, you need to know how to knit, purl, knit in the round, make decreases, the long-tail cast-on, the Italian bind-off, and the kitchener stitch technique. 

CONSTRUCTION

This is a bottom-up top/vest, meaning it is knitted from the bottom up. First, the ribbing is knitted, then the body is knitted in the round up to the armholes where the front and back are separated, which are knitted flat up to the shoulders, which are closed with the kitchener stitch method. A small finish is made on the remaining stitches for the neckline, and finally, stitches are picked up and knitted in rib stitch to finish the armholes.

One size.

Finished garment circumference: 130 cm [51.25”].

Garment height from shoulder: 53.5 cm [21”]. 

Sleeve circumference: 40 cm [15.75”].

GAUGE

21 stitches and 30 rows for a 10 x 10 cm [4 x 4”] swatch in stockinette stitch, WITHOUT blocking.

YARN

NEEDLES

3.5 mm [US 4] circular needles with a 40 cm [16"] cable for the armholes and a longer cable for the body, or the needles needed to obtain the gauge (unblocked).

1 stitch marker for the beginning of the round, darning needle for weaving in ends.

USE AND WASHING INSTRUCTIONS

Our garments do not require frequent washing thanks to their natural composition; simply air the garment on a clothesline overnight, and any possible odors will disappear.
