ABOUT THE VEST TOP
PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE FOR KNITTING XULIÁN
To knit this vest, you need to know how to provisionally cast on stitches, knit, bind off stitches, make increases (the ones normally used for armholes), pick up stitches, and knit flat.
XULIÁN CONSTRUCTION
This vest is constructed from top to bottom without any seams. It starts by knitting the neckline with a provisional cast-on, continues with the back, leaving the stitches on hold when a sufficient length for the armholes is reached. Then, the provisional cast-on is resumed to knit the neckline part of the button band, after which stitches are picked up on the shoulders, these stitches are taken up again, and the fronts are knitted, separately, but they can be done simultaneously, depending on the knitter. Once the necessary length to the armholes is reached, the 2 front pieces and the back are joined, and the vest continues to be knitted down to the bottom edge.
